Frequently Asked Questions
1)Where the heck is (insert your favorite minor character's name here)????
You'd be amazed how fast you can fill up 64 slots with a universe as character-rich as the four Star Wars movies, and we eventually had to make some painful cuts. General Madine, Hobbie, Tagge, Max Reebo, the Cantina bartender, they all got left behind, and it sucks, but we are confident in the choices we made based on fan popularity and influence on the storyline.
2)Hey!!! You left out the Ewoks! Yep, we sure did.
3)Where's Grand Admiral Thrawn? And Mara Jade? And Talon Karrde? And Dash Rendar? And the Solo kids? If you ain't been on the big screen, you can't walk down the Road. No Expanded Universe characters allowed.
4) What's with the OT/TPM crap? Some characters appear in both the Original Trilogy (OT) and The Phantom Menace (TPM) being played by different actors (ex. Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker) or have vastly different roles (Senator Palpatine as compared to The Emperor), so we felt the need to avoid any confusion on who we're specifically referring to. In addition, since Owen and Beru Lars, as well as Boba Fett will appear in the upcoming Attack of the Clones, we wanted everyone to know we mean the characters we know from the Original Trilogy, not their younger, and as-yet unseen on screen prequel counterparts.
5) Why not OT/TPM designation for R2D2/C3PO/Yoda/Jabba then?
Although C3PO, Yoda and Jabba certainly looked different in The Phantom Menace than in the Original Trilogy, we felt none of their characters were altered enough to designate them as two separate entries. And R2D2 has been a rock throughout the movies, he's comfortable with his appearance.
6) When does the next matchup appear on the page?
We update the website nightly Sunday through Thursday between 11:30 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. CDT. It may be the very rare case that you vote for one matchup just as we are loading the next one, and you might vote for someone you didn't want to. The best way to avoid that is to vote before 11:30 p.m.!
7) Where can I see the exact vote counts for previous matchups?
Until we have time to draw, upload and maintain some kick-ass artwork, you can visit each of the four brackets (click the big pretty buttons) or you can see the vote counts on the voter commentary page.
